News: Koenigsegg Agera R set new world record beating Buggati Veyron SS

Acoording to Evo Magazine: 1100 bhp Agera R has been testing in Singapore, and has set some new performance records.

Koenigsegg Agera R new super car from Swedish has set a new world record  the 1100Bhp 5L V8 twin turbo car has set a record of 0-300 km/h in 14.56 sec. This figure beats the latest record set by Buggati Veyron Super Sport which is 14.6 sec.

The car is weight around 1430kg which gives the Agera a power-to-weight ratio of 779bhp/ ton which is enough, say Koenigsegg, to allow a 0-60mph time of less than three seconds and a top speed in excess of 260mph.

Koenigsegg also run a braking test called on the Agera’s gigantic 397mm (front) and 380mm (rear) carbon-ceramic brakes. This time stopping from 186mph and 200mph, the R posted times of 6.66 and 7.28 seconds respectively. For me, 200-0 in 7.28 sounds even scarier than 0-200 in 17.68.

Finally, the car’s accelerative and braking abilities were combined to produce times for a 0-300-0 km/h and 0-200-0 mph test. In the former test, the Agera R completed its best run in 21.19 seconds and dipped just under 25 seconds (24.96) for the latter.
